So, I am listening to the new Quiet Riot..........and it is...........uhhh inconsistent.......

There are a couple of really cool songs "Free" and "Strange Daze"...other than that, there are some cool riffs here and there...but they try way too hard at the old power ballad type of song and I personally hate the whole power ballad thing..................and one other thing....what is up with all the black girl, wannabe soul styling backup vocals on this thing??? I am all about the sisters..........but on this type of music, it just sounds stupid......

I wouldn't suggest buying this, but check out the 2 songs mentioned above.

The 4th of July

Well, the 4th of July trip down to Wichita went really well. Arrived down there of Friday night...that night we just hung out chatting with Mistershawn and MizzSparky......Saturday we again spent most of the day chatting and then went out that night down in the "old town" area of Wichita..........had a great time, even though the band playing live that night was not that great.

Sunday and Monday we hung out, chatted and launched a bunch of fireworks.....overall a great time! My sweetie and I had a relaxing, outstanding time-can't wait to do it again. Hopefully next time we take the trip down there, things will work out so we can stop and see some of my people in Salina...........word.

Well, my wicked sunburn no longer hurts...........we are in the peeling stage....thank goodness. It is amazing what getting out in the sun for a while will do to your skin when you have led the life of a night working, daytime sleeping vampire kinda fella for a while.

Anyway, as John Candy once said, now I have a good base color to work from....so we will see how it goes from here.

Finally got some overtime this last week....ended up pulling 20 extra hours, hopefully it will continue to be offered this week, and the week after, and the week after that, etc.

Well, it is Sunday late morning on the big holiday weekend........went to see a band last night called "Corpus"...they were pretty good....I really dug when they played White Zombies "More Human Than Human"....good times for me and my lady.

We are getting ready to go lay out and soak up some sun.....yes, the first time I have been in the sun in years.....it is her influence, don't blame me. Hopefully I won't get too burnt.

That makes me laugh a little bit. Nope, I am not a snake handler....at least not in the traditional sense. Here is the story.......

Not long ago, on Easter weekend, my Sweetie and I loaded up in the car and headed down to Wichita, KS to hang out with Shawn and Sparky for the wknd. I had taken the initiative of looking up what was happening in Wichita on the weekend, and lo and behold, I came across a listing of a show by some dude called "The Voodoo Organist".....I checked out his website and got intrigued, especially as his new album is called "The Serpent Dance"....I releated this info to Shawn and he said "Oh, we are so gonna be there".....

Come the day of the show, Sparky comes up with the idea of getting some rubber snakes to take to the show so we can do our own wacky Serpent Dance while the show is happening....the rest of us decide this is a super idea and we roll around town trying to find rubber serpents.....apparently they are not as popular as they once were, as Toys R Us didn't even have a rubber serpent aisle.............if you can believe that. Anyway, we finally scored some low quality serpents at the unholiest of all outlets.....the Wal Mart......we did a lil' bit of serpent dancing in the store, and the locals there were not really amused....(they were a bit scared if you ask me)...

Anyway, we went to the show, danced with serpents, and had a wicked good time.

I Can't believe I finally found this!!!! Had been looking for this clip forever......this vid was taken in the early morning hours in approx 1987.....not sure exactly, but it was not long after the David Lee Roth "Eat Em and Smile" album came out.

Hello everyone....another Sunday afternoon, time for a post on the ol' blog.

Had a very nice weekend....kind of short (worked Saturday), but nice a relaxing and whatnot....Saturday at work ended up being really cool.....the best work day I have had in a long time, we got to listen to a good radio station, only cool people were there working, and I got to take hella long breaks (which is always a good thing!)

I am psyching myself up to venture out to the dreaded Wal Mart for groceries.....hate going there on Sunday afternoon, as that is when all the annoying people show up and make the place a crowded hellhole.....but what is a guy to do, right? The older I get the more I am starting to dislike big crowds of annoying people.......now a big crowd of hottie girls, or something like that...cool, but no the annoying people that hang out at Wal Mart....

Anyway, our picture of the moment is from a Lords of Acid show.....gotta love those guys, right? Anyway, I am off to get groceries, will post more when I get back.

Well, time for my regular Sunday evening post on the ol' blog.

Last week was kind of bunk, as I mentioned in a previous entry, work was shut down both Monday and Tuesday for snow days.....so my hours sucked...however I did still manage to put in a total of 44 hrs from Weds thru Sat, so it worked out okay....but I did miss 20 hours I would have had in those 2 days....dammit.

This weekend was okay, didn't do a damn thing except catch up on sleep.......but that is a good thing....got home from work Saturday about 7 something and by 10 I was asleep, didn't wake up til after midnight......so that was almost 14 hrs of sleep.....stayed up until about 6am and then slept again until 11 or so......so almost 19 hrs of sleep in the past day and a half.......I know that seems extreme, but with as cold and crappy as it was outside, it was probably the best use of my time.

Getting all geared up to go back to work tonight....it will only be an 8 hr shift, as Mondays always are...so not that bad. Hopefully I will be able to pull 12 hr shifts the rest of the week......we will see.

Talked to Mistershawn for a while today, kinda played a little catch up, it will be great to see him, Mizzsparky, and lil Lola on xmas.....can't wait.....just around 3 weeks away and coming up quickly.

And of course, Miss Megan......I have been waiting almost a year to see her and her beautiful self....cannot wait, cannot wait, cannot wait!!!!! I tried to call her today, but it went straight to voicemail, dammit......seems we are having more and more trouble connecting on the phone as of late, which sucks......but, a mere 3 weeks and I will get to see her in person, so that will make it all worthwhile.

Well, we are finally starting to dig out from the nasty ass blizzard type weather that hit us and shut down the whole town for the last 2 days......

So, tonight will be my first night of work this week.....the last 2 nights are the first shifts we have been closed due to weather since I have worked there, which is a little over 2 years now.

It was nice to have a couple extra days off, but it will suck for the weeks paycheck.....because weather days are, of course, not paid.

I havent done much over the last couple days, mainly sitting around and watching dvd's and waiting out the storm.....thank goodness I had stocked up on smokes/food/pop on Friday morning before this whole weather thing happened.

A very positive thing is that since I was home, I did get to talk to Miss Megan twice yesterday....and she was sweet enough to call back for a third chat, but I was already asleep....dammit. I will be trying to give her a call this evening before I go in to work......after all it is less than a month away when I get to spoon with her lucious self!!!!

By the way, I finally went to Builders Warehouse today and bought some sand-tube things to put in my trunk....have to weight down the big Crown Vic so it goes better in the snow...noticed a huge difference on the way home, so it was probably a good idea.

Need to give Mistershawn a call too, havent talked to him since Thurs or Fri......that is too long, now that I am back in the mainstream and all about the communication.

By the way, our pic for the day is Ruth the former singer for Lords of Acid....I have been listening to their classic album "Lust" a lot lately.......it is killer, if you havent heard it, you should. I know she is looking all 80's with that hairdo, but damn......just listen to her vocals on the song "I Sit On Acid" and that will make you a fan.

Well, it has been a nice little break from work, but it is now Sunday afternoon already........that means back to work tonight. Damn.

I almost wish we wouldn't have had this break, as it is going to be tough getting back in the 12 hr day routine (assuming of course, that the OT is still being offered thru the end of the year). I will be doing a mere 8 hr shift tonight, and then if all pans out, back to 12 hr days the remainder of the week.

This holiday from work was nice, but I didn't do a whole heck of a lot. Wednesday morning after work, a bunch of us went to the Dome Lounge to hang out for a bit and have a few beers....that was fun.

Wednesday night, Josh and I headed back to Oxford.....slept, did some fun laundy type stuff, ate way too much on Thanksgiving day, then headed back to Kearney on Thursday night.

Friday and Saturday didn't really do anything at all...watched some dvd's, played on the PC way too much, slept a lot, and that was about it.

Still playing phone tag with Miss Megan....we haven't had a real live conversation in several days now, which is a bummer.....I did get a voice mail from her about 11:15 this morning (I was sleeping) have tried twice to reach her back, but just getting voicemail. I am getting kinda antsy/nervous/excited/all that--as I will be seeing her in person coming up here very quickly....less than a month away now.

I did talk to Tom Haerich in KC this wknd, that was cool....havent talked to him in a while...he seems to be doing well. Sounded like Amy had fun in Salina over the holiday...she had a chance to see Hope and probably some other names from the past...but haven't gotten another update from her yet.

Hope all is going well for everyone.....I am going to run out to the store.......ran out of paper towels......that is just a bad thing....gotta have paper towels for microwave cookin', right?

Okay, a while back on here, I admitted to Miss Sparky (who is a devout U2 fan) that despite my constant slagging of the band to her over the years, I actually do enjoy some of their songs....stuff like Sunday Bloody Sunday, a bunch of the Joshua Tree album, etc.

But, these kinds of comments by their idiot frontman just really prevent me from liking them that much.....................I know, I should just enjoy the music and get over it......but hell, this fucktard is always showing up on tv or in the newspaper spouting some idiotic nonsense about how revolutionary U2 are.................makes you want to smack him in the forehead (or fivehead, as he has a big old noggin)......and say "hey, douchebag......it is a rock band....not rocket science"....I mean hell, I am sure their recordings move some people, but some people are equally as moved by WASP's debut album.......I mean hell, the song "I Wanna Be Somebody" from that record is highly motivational.....much more so than something like "Angel of Harlem", which is supposedly a romantic little ditty that Bono wrote to announce his love for a young Hispanic Boy in the ghetto of New York City.

Anyway, you all knew he was an idiot, this is just more fuel for the fire.

Good morning. Well, I blew it again.....was supposed to chat with Miss Megan last night, but I didn't wake up until about 2 in the morning, so I figured that was probably a bit late to call.

It is now almost 8 in the morning, and I will probably stay up until around noon or so, then go back to sleep so I am fully rested for going back to work tonight at 11.

What did I do from 2 until 8 you ask? Downloaded more and more stuff, believe it or not.....I am just on a downloading binge or something, keep finding cool out of print stuff that I havent heard in a long time, so it is pretty groovy for me....I finally figured out how to really use the bit torrent stuff, and it is just killer....you can find almost anything you can imagine....I have filled up almost 100 gigabytes worth of stuff in the last couple months....damn! That is a lot of stuff.

OK, I will get kind of deep and thoughtful on you here for a minute........

Talked to Miss Megan the other day, and we were both saying stuff like "oh, can't wait to see you at xmas" and that kind of thing. Which is very true....I can't wait!!!!!

Then, I busted out the inevitable......saying, damn it will be weird having to sit there and watch you with your boyfriend/roommate dude/man/significant other kinda guy.....whatever.........see, I haven't talked about this on here, but Miss Megan is currently living with a dude.....and has been the whole time since we started up talking a lot almost a year ago.

From everything I can gather.......doesn't really sound like it is much of a relationship....more like a roommate/convenience/friend kind of thing......but the point is that over the holiday visit, there will be times when that guy is there and I will have to behave pretty much the polar opposite of how I will feel......which will be kind akward, but I can pull it off, no sweat.....

The thing I am worried about is Miss Megan/Sparky's folks......are they going to be thinking something like "damn.....that Unklebry is a rat bastard, trying to hook up with our daughter while she is living with another dude" or something like that.......knowing her mom a little bit, I imagine she will be nice about the whole thing, cuz she is just a nice person....at least she has always been super cool to me......but I don't really know the Pops.....so that one is gonna be tough to call.

I am also worried about lil' Tony busting out something about how me and Miss Megan are always on the phone.....I can just see him making a comment about that while the significant other is around....potential for a weird moment there, huh?

Anyway, not really worried too much about this, but it has been on my mind....you know running thru the head while I am at work doing my repetitious manual labor throughout the evening......like I said, I think I can handle the situation, just don't want to cause any drama for anyone.

****But seeing Miss Megan, and getting a chance to hang out with her....and SPOON!!!!! will make anything that happens worthwhile!!!!****

I will get to hang out/visit with Mistershawn and Miss Sparky for the first time in a year, and get to see and make a fuss over lil baby Lola for the first time ever.....this is going to be a happenin' holiday! Hard to believe that it will have been a year since I went to San Antonio for xmas......seems like yesterday, as I still remember every darn little detail of that trip....I hadn't seen them for over 3 years.....and it felt like we had only missed a day...........which reminds me, I also need to give them a call today, haven't talked to either of them in several days.

Right now I am listening to a Henry Rollins spoken word show recorded on 1.18.95 in Stockholm...over 3 hours long....man, the internet is a wonderful thing, being able to get stuff like this, right?

I finally put a counter on this page, it is hidden, but I can access the number of times it is accessed daily, weekly, monthly, etc.....and I am averaging about 20 hits a day!!? Who are these people checking out my ramblings? I wish they would leave a comment and at least say hello, that would be nice.

I am going to get off here for the moment and go make a pot of coffee.....

So, I finally learned how to use bit torrent downloads, and what is one of the first things I get? The mighty Social Distortion...Live in OC DVD.....this thing just whoops ass.....Mike Ness is getting a lot older, but this dude whoops ass over 99 percent of the bands coming out now.........

I also finally got a copy of the old Kid Rock CD "Early Mornin Stoned Pimp"....the one he self released prior to the release of Devil Without A Cause....good, good stuff.

Not a whole hell of a lot else going on as of late, worked a 12 hour shift last night, doing the same thing tonight.....planning on pulling 12 hour shifts thru Saturday......but we will have to wait and see....as it is I have worked 200 hours in the past 3 weeks.....which is kind of a lot. Sucks being a broke ass ninja....but by the first of the year, all my old ass bills should be all paid off and done with......cannot happen soon enough for me, being in debt just plain blows.....

Havent had much time as of late to converse with Miss Megan, we have traded tons of voice mails, and had the occasional quick conversations, but no long in depth storytelling kind of talks like we used to have, I miss that : ( Oh well, have to make up for that at xmas when we finally get to see each other!

I am off to take a shower and all that nonsense...get ready to go back to work again.

What up true believers?

It is currently late Saturday night/Sunday Morning...3:14am to be exact, as I start this post.

Slept a large portion of the day, got off work at 7am Saturday morning, finishing a 68 hour work week, which is good, as OT pays nicely, but doesnt leave a lot of time for much else, like entertaining all of you. I will probably work the same schedule next week, as long as the OT remains available...........we will see.

Friday morning a bunch of us from work went out and got liquored up after work....not really drunk or anything, just 4 or 5 beers each in the 5 hours we were there.......well ok, the lightweights left after like 2 hours, but most held out til noon........ended up having a hella good time. See above for some documentation of our drunken antics......and damn,what is up with my eyeballs in that pic, I look like I have crazy huge bug eyes or somethin? Kind of wrong, but oh well........... (())damn the pics wont load, will try to add them later(())

I will have to take a break from this post in a few, right now I am downloading episode 6 of My Name Is Earl....the best TV comedy in years.....so I will have to watch that right when it finishes....

Josh got kicked out of the roomate situation he was in, so for the moment he is staying with me....oh boy. Tonight was the first night for him being here, wasn't that big of a deal, we watched Napoleon Dynamite together and laughed like little kids, as it is that kind of movie....then I was showing him some of the other stuff I have downloaded, and he was off to sleep.....with our work schedules being so different, I really won't see him much during the time he is here, so it shouldn't be that big of a deal.................we will find out and I will keep you updated.

Welcome to the blog, hope all is well wherever in the hell you happen to be located. It is hella cold in Nebraska right now, currently a whopping 32 degrees....yep right at the freezing point. I remember back in the day when we had seasons called spring and fall, but now it seems we go straight from summer to winter and then start over again. Damn. Oh well, I would rather it be colder than 100 degrees and humid. This brother is not all about being sweaty.

I keep missing calls from The Midwest Master of Metal......seems that I am always asleep when he tries to give me a call, which is no good.....when you read this.....sorry about that, but a fella has to get his rest on.

Only worked 8 hours last night, will be going in early tonight and pulling a 12 hr shift....and then it sounds like Saturday is going to be a go for this week, so that is cool, probably pull another 12 then.....will find out for sure tomorrow.

Sorry I haven't done an entry to update the story of the Altoids girl.....been working a lot this last week....ended up with 68 hours, which is cool, as 28 hours of overtime more than doubles the paycheck for the week......always a good thing......even if too much of that will end up going to pay off the bills from my past when I lived well in excess of my means.....(if you are slow, that means that I spent more than I was making)

Anyway, it is Sunday 10/23/05 and just about 6pm......have to be at work tonight again at 11pm and start another week of slaving for the man.....hopefully we will have as much overtime this week as we had last week.....if so, I am going to work every OT hour possible, which would end up being a total of 72 hours......but that is all dependant on the hours being available....we will have to wait and see.

Haven't talked to Miss Megan in 2 days, and that makes me kind of sad.....talking to her is usually the highlight of my day.....but I keep getting voicemail....dammit!!! Oh well, I will try her again tonight before I go in to work....should be easier to reach her this week, as she has the week off.....but I will probably be working all kinds of crazy hours, so I will be the hard one to reach.....go figure.

Starting to try and figure out the plans for the Holiday season this year.....looks like the annual festivities will be in Wichita, KS.....Mistershawn and Miss Sparky will be going to West Palm Beach, Florida to attend an Xmas party (they are all kinds of high class like that) and then flying from there over to Wichita.......Miss Megan will be in Wichita, and a mere 90 minutes away is the Midwest Master Of Metal in Salina.....and Amy, if I remember right, will be flying up to Salina from Tampa.....so we very well may end up having an evening of "hey, remember when....." stories if we can all hook up for a night. I will keep trying to nail down everyone's schedule and figure this thing out......I am all about the planning like that.

Who knows, maybe Dead Orchestra will be playing a reunion show in Wichita over the Holidays and we can go and laugh at them like the old days......even better, maybe Mike Lacy and the fellas in Psycho Love Tribe will get back together and we can pretend we are back at Rock Island in 1990 or something....hahahahah How metal would that be?

I have been slacking off on the blogging this week, sorry about that....well, it is Thursday night, 10/20/05 currently 7:30 pm..... So far this week I have 44 hours in this week....going to do 8 more tonight, which will make it 52 hrs....and then either 8 or 12 hours on Saturday...haven't decided yet..............

Good morning everyone, it is 8:30am as I begin to type this entry on the blog.....Sunday 10/16/05 Hope you are having a good morning, afternoon, or even evening....depending on when you are reading this entry.

I was really damn lazy yesterday....ended up falling asleep sometime in the afternoon.....had just finished talking to Miss Megan on the phone, and popped in my 4 episode disc of My Name Is Earl......then fell asleep............slept almost forever...woke up about 2 in the morning....putzed around a bit on the pc, then fell asleep again until around 6 am, then got up and started playing poker at www.pokerstars.net which is always a good time.

I was pretty mad at myself for falling asleep though, as Miss Megan and I had planned to have a long telephone chat later in the afternoon/early evening.....dammit. So Megan, if you read this before I talk to you....I suck....sorry about being lame and falling asleep.

I have gotten a few requests for another "Ladies Of Unklebry" entry, so I think today is the day we go to that side of the blog again......oh yes, time for the nasty. hahahha

Okay, this is kind of a long story........this is the story of "Altoid Girl"

I was working in San Antonio and had a team leader who worked for me call in sick...which left me short a person to cover our staffing for the night.....I tried to think of who I could use to cover the spot.....thought of a girl I had monitored a few times the previous week who did an outstanding job.....had her sent to my office and explained the situation....she was thrilled to be offered the stand in job for the night. She did a good job and I thanked her for helping us out by giving her a pair of San Antonio Spurs tickets to the game for that weekend (had a bunch to give out for that game)...and didn't think anything else about it.

The next week, she was always popping in my office to see if we needed her help again, which we didn't.....but she kept stopping in my office all the time anyway....one night she just kept hanging around and noticed my tin of altoids on my desk......she said "hey...is it true what they say about altoids?" I was like what? That they are curiously strong peppermints? She replied "no, that they make oral sex really intense"

Doh!

I just kind of stammered something like "uhhhhh" and didn't comment on it. I am all kinds of slick like that.

A few days later she was hanging around again and we were talking...I asked her how old she was....and of course, she was a whopping 17. Not good.

A few weeks goes by, and we lose a supervisor, and have her stand in...so for this she gets my cell phone number so she can contact me if anything should happen that I need to know about while I am not at the office......she starts to call me just to say hello and all that stuff. One night I am at work, and she calls.....she is in the parking lot outside my office.....she asks me to come out so she can ask me something.....I am intrigued, but knowing I will not do anything due to her age.....I roll outside and it is dark out.....walk up to her car which is parked off by itself...she opens the door and swivels herself to the side like she is going to get out, but doesnt she beckons me to walk around the other side of the car door, and she has her skirt hiked up around her waist.....no drawers on, just smiling at me. Damn, this is odd. I walk back around the other side of the door so I can no longer see her flashing box and tell her that nothing is going to happen as she is too young, and besides she works for me. She tries to talk me into "doing something" with her that night, but I stand my ground.

A couple weeks passes, and she shows up at work again....she has since left the company and no longer works with me.....she comes in my office to say hello and asks me to go to the smoking area to have a talk....I do....there she introduces me to a young lady she has brought with her.....and then asks if I will go do "something" with both of them after I get off work that night.....she says it will be fun....and her and the other girl both look at each other and giggle......I ask her if she has turned 18 yet.....and of course, nope.....so I politely decline the invitation.

I don't hear from her for a while, then out of the blue she calls me one night while I am out on the town with Mistershawn....we are getting kind of liquored up and she is at home playing with herself....hahah yep, for real, I tell her to put the phone down by there and let me hear the squishy kinda sounds......and it was for real....then I start directing her as to her hand motion and insertion/retracting of her fingers....it was pretty darn rocking...Mistershawn and I had a good laugh while sitting at the bar.

I don't hear from her for a while again, then one night close to last call while I am again out with Mistershawn, she calls and tells me she has been 18 for almost a month and I haven't called her.....hahah She appears to be kind of liquored up...(as was I) and wants me to drive over and pick her up and bring her back to my place.....I am feeling pretty bold, so I ask her if she is freshly shaved downstairs.....she says she has a little stubble, as she hasnt shaved in about a week....I tell her to go take a shower, shave that thing all smooth and then call me back....I honestly don't expect her to do it, but about a half hour later she calls back and says she is freshly showered, shaved, and ready to go.....hahhhahah

I will pick up with part 2 of this story in a little while.

Hello everyone, and welcome to another entry comin' atcha live from the mighty midwest.

I didn't do a darn thing all weekend, which was nice....watched some dvd's, spent time downloading a bunch of music from bands that you have probably never heard of, and finished up a book I was reading. For me, that is a productive weekend. Hopefully everyone else did something a bit more entertaining/exciting.

I do have a bit of bad news, my beloved mobile, "Bessie" is pretty much dead. Appears I have blown a head gasket in her, and that kind of repair is way too costly for a car that is worth so little, so I am currently looking at buying a car from the lil' brother unit.....the car he traded in on his current car was pretty decent, and he turned around and bought it right back from the dealer for the same price they gave him on trade in value.....now he will sell it to me for more.....making himself some money, and helping me out by saving me the trouble of looking around at cars and all that crap. He is bringing it over here tonight and I will drive it to work and just check it out to make sure that is what I want to do. Probably so, I am not really that picky when it comes to cars, kinda obvious since I have had my current one almost 10 years.

Didn't talk to Miss Megan at all this weekend, and that bums me out......seems whenever she calls me I am asleep, and whenever I call her she is doing something else and I get voicemail...it is kinda tough keeping in touch with the rest of the world when you work the hours that everyone else is normally asleep, as it really puts a bind in your schedule and all that......I mean half the time I don't wake up til about 9 at night, then check email, crap, shower, etc....then off to work....trying to keep in contact with everyone within that 10-10:45 window that I leave myself......but if people get up at 6 in the morning, half the time they are asleep by then. Not complaining, but just makes it tough to stay in touch.

I think I need to get a hobby, something to do instead of just being a computer geek all the time when I am not at work......I dunno, perhaps macrame?

Another Reno pic...this is Unklebry and Lata Mokofisi....she was our receptionist at ProMark, and a very nice person......she was originally from one of those island countries out in the Pacific somewhere. Note the rockin billy goat scruff on my chin, soon to be shaved off after this pic.

LA Guns show April 11, 1988

This pic is really taking it back a ways....to April 11, 1988. That is the night that Unklebry, Dale Kvasniscka, and JPA (the Midwest Master of Metal) ventured to Lawrence, KS to see LA Guns for the first time.....this was on their first national tour....right after the self titled album was released.....had a grand old time and still have a very, very crappy audio recording of this show. Still have my Tracii Guns guitar pick from that night too.....aww yeah.

I think JPA registered on Sludge finally....
